Uttar Pradesh Government Announces New Policy for Motor Training Schools

The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a significant step toward improving road safety and modernizing the driver training system in the state. In a landmark move, the government recently announced a new policy framework for motor training schools, aimed at making driver education more structured, transparent, and effective. Over the past decade, rising road accidents have been a matter of grave concern. Despite millions of drivers holding licenses, many fail to demonstrate discipline and adherence to road safety rules. In fact, statistics show that India witnesses nearly 150,000 road fatalities every year, and a large percentage of these accidents occur due to careless driving, lack of awareness, and insufficient training. Uttar Pradesh, being one of the most populous states, has been particularly affected. This growing challenge prompted the government to strengthen regulations for motor training schools and improve the standards of driver education.
